More About Dolores

Dolores Bonaccorso is a true artist. Whether masterfully cutting children’s hair or painting beautiful landscapes, Dolores uniquely expresses beauty and a sense of peace with a deep connection to the natural world. With over 20 years of experience working with families she uses her uncanny sensitivity at assessing a child’s needs to provide a beautiful hairstyle in a quick, friendly and efficient manner. She is often called the “baby whisperer” by her co-workers because of her unique ability to relax even her youngest customers.  It is evident with her longstanding clients that she is not only talented, but also dependable and reliable. Because of this rare combination many of her loyal clients have been following her for decades.

Unlike other kid’s hair salons where everyone leaves ramped up and frazzled, Lulu’s is a calm environment where children are encouraged to play and parents encouraged to relax. Dolores, along with her staff, inspires a friendly and laid-back vibe. She has also created a zen-like space with her choice of colors and music and by displaying her beautiful artwork on the walls. When you observe Dolores’s paintings, it is very clear she is inspired by and has a deep reverence for the natural world. Her unique use of colors has a softness that draws you into each landscape. There is a quiet quality to her compositions which is also a reflection of her own gentle, yet strong nature.

Dolores also believes in the importance of community and therefore strives to give back to local organizations that support children’s causes and the arts in the Cambridge and surrounding areas such as the Radcliffe Childcare Center, The Shady Hill School and the Cambridge Youth Dance Program. Dolores also supports fellow artists in her hometown of Gloucester by volunteering at the Annual Magnolia Art show and donating to the Sargent House Museum, among others.

Whether volunteering her time, cutting hair or painting beautiful landscapes, Dolores’s intention is to remind everyone of the beauty that’s around and in us all.
